May and June as opposed to Benny and June

The last days of this year at CIS in Beijing....well not quite....leave for home on June 25th....the new airport (Terminal 3) is quite a thing to see....as are so many of the new buildings here.


I think I have come down from the personal high of the Boston Marathon and all the work and excitement that went into that...now the memories.....don't know if I will run another ...who knows...just some photos and a poster to make and that will be it

Got my phone and computer hooked up to high speed internet after some technical difficulties...

Got my three wheel bike painted and have the decals on it...will get a few pictures of it and will forward to all who would like to see...kind of cool...the maintenance guy did the painting and a pretty fine job at that....even took off the wheels and I think did a little tune up!!!!!...had 4 or 5 students trying it out the other day...they were having a blast on it....may create a proposal fro Reg to take to all the International schools....Pimp my Three Wheeler....do it up right ...then seel it at the end of the year ant give the money to a charity.....whaddya think

Golf ..what can I tell ya...still struggling....another 110 and am not hitting the ball straight anymore...may have to go back to the cheap clubs....they seem to help me and are more forgiving.....but go figure...I was within about a metre of winning the longest drive but took a 8 on a par 3...mind you it was an island green....oh well another kick at the kitty this Sunday....after the Canadian Embassy Ball on Saturday

Will be starting to get ready for my final exams....pe has not a high profile here so that will be less stressful ...but the math for the Intensive students is a bit of a crapshoot as some of the students are weak and then are also not very English proficient.

Found my booze for the drink SEDUCTION...Kahlua, Bailleys, and Midori,,,,and have had a couple seductions in the evening...hahahaha

The area around the school is going to have several embassies...so there is a lot of building going on....and there is a lot of wrecking going on too..there have been many house...hutongs...being destroyed ...and the families just move on...there is a whole pile of rubble all over the place....our Chinese restaurant...there one day, gone the next...several of the placer we go to are gone...and some people just put up temporary shacks and keep on living...across from the school is the new Indian embassy and the American and German and Israeli ones are close by...so it looks like the International school here will probably get more worldly....

Found my disco ball at an electronics store ...woooo hooo now how to hook it up....

Well how is this.....shot a 116 on the next course...Guess my game has gone to hell in a hand basket....and made in China at that...


Terrible news...I lost my cell phone...the Nokia N95...a good one...expensive too...must have fallen out of my pocket when I was out riding my bike......Geez if it is not credit cards or wallets.....it's cell phone.....don't think I will get one until I get home.....maybe a Blackberry...anybody got any recommendation....

The Canadian Ball was a good time..not quite as good a last year.....but still a good time....stayed out too late...doing local things..... eating meat skewers and drinking some beer.....the went golfing early the next day....see above.....I hope that I get better soon...am taking my clubs home this year and will leave them there.....then buy a cheap set here....

Massage last night and it was good...delivered three sets of club to the Post Office...took them on my three wheeler...new set up so had to educate the new people at the wicket on how to pack the boxes....took a little longer than usual....

No cell phone yet...have been speculating on an I phone....that adapts to the Apple....about the same price as the N95....will wait until I get some other opinions....school wrapping up quickly...have decided to go in with Brent and NJ and Adam and Jade for the service of a maid who will also cook....that is probably what I need the most...maybe get some more meat on my bones....

Got an email from Scott Osmachenko ...Zone 3 went down if flames as far as I know...the Viking funeral and all....would have like to have been there....was in spirit... lots of good times and memories....long distance phone calls and drinking and games and boat races and friendships and costumes and dances and friends....

Starting to pack.......got most of my school work wrapped up except for some marking...went out on a stage with some of the young uns on Friday....stayed with them until about 1130 and then Reg and I pulled the pin and came back here to listen to a band at Nashvilles...until about 1...then took the three wheeler to Yashow for a spending spree.....we had her filled up, Chinese style when we returned...and we were bushed doing all the negotiating....1 more set of clubs to go home before the end of the year and then that will be the season....speaking of which.....last weekend was a disaster....shot a 124...can you imagine....a 71 on the front nine....was ready to pack her in..but shot a respectable, for me, 53 on the back nine....today I shot a 99
51 and 48 and even parred 4 holes......my my my game has improved and it is not the clubs.....

Am having a little difficulty getting a place to stay during the Olympics...we are shuttled out of our apt here...wanted to get into the ones from last year...they are charging an arm and a leg for them....don't know where I can go now....but have a few feelers out on it and will hopefully have something in place for when I return on the 25th opf July....

J has my ticket for Craven and also will be going to a Riders game on July 19th....hope to see many people while I have my month home.....some personal things to work out.....stuff to give away...stuff to store.....plus have some time to enjoy Sask....

May be the athletic director here next year....something in the works...nothing for sure....will mean more responsiblity outside the classroom...

How about those Red Wings......will get my toe nails done in Red I think....maybe with DRW on them.....both my teams were winners this year...and New England lost....I was glad...don't even care about the rest of the sports

Had a cool thing happen....went out to BCCSC where I taught last year...they were having a grad dinner.....last year they actually had a prom night..this year,... nada ...anyway wasn't going to go into the dinner until one of the Chinese teachers from last year sort of dragged me in...I walked in and you might have thought the prodigal son had returned....en masse they stood up and clapped and yelled and it was quite humbling.....stayed and had a great time talking to them.....many are going all over the world to continue their education.....Dennis and another student are going to UCLA to study engineering.....others all over Canada...was quite glad I went there.....made a few contacts with them so will try to keep on the emailing

Well i think this will be it for the blog.....I will probably not be putting in many more photos.....you know about my camera....but I will try to include a couple more....hope the summer will be enjoyable....mine will be short at home....but the next year will bring new challenges and opportunities.....take care
