Leaving the grassland

Wanted to get this image in as it was the sunrise ...not much different from Sask......also was chilly....my watch's batteries gave out too ...where in the Mongolian grasslands do you find a battery....went out for an early morning job and had a cramp in my right calf muscles about 1/2 hour out so had to walk back ...hope that won't ause problems in the marathon....more on that.....when I got back no one was up so I went back to bed.....since I was alone in the yurt...I had the blankets for two beds and it was a little chilly..but not for me. When I got up again, I went back down for breakfast and was quite astonished to find the other happening there.....this was probably supper and dinner being butchered...right out behind the restaurant..yes those are sheep to slaughter....there was a truck full of them and I think there were six killed before I got there.....the butcher was a little miffed at me for taking the picture and wanted to keep the camera..nope...anyway that was the end of our trip to the grassland.

On a passing note, we met up with several other people for the experience and had a good chat with them. They were at the bar too. Anyway, we met them again in Boutou...a city of about 2 million...at a temple and they were telling us that the next day when they went out on their horse ride, one of the horses just stopped and refused to go on....they got another one and continued on. A few hours later the horse died. Interestingly, the guys running the show wanted them to pay for it because they said it was their riding that caused the problem...we had a good laugh over that ....they said they were going to do an autopsy on the horse...a nono in their customs we understand....
